Open Office Announces Release of Version 2.2

(Archived in: Online Usability Technology in Plain English)

This morning I received an email from the Community announcing the release of Version 2.2. This is the latest version of the leading open-source office suite. The newest version includes upgrades to OO's word processor, spreadsheet, presentations, and database software.

Open Office is, of course, a free software package that provides an alternative to the recently released Microsoft Office 2007 and previous products. This version of OO also claims an easier upgrade path for existing Microsoft Office users from previous versions. You also can check out Microsoft Office 2007 online free for 60 days. Read this post at Esofthub's Webfinds for more information.

You can access the Open 2.2 download by clicking on the Open Office icon in the side bar. If you are familiar with the Digital Nomads blog, you know that I am a big believer in open source projects and online applications that are being offered by Google and others.
