Digital Nomads will appreciate this (yet another) messaging feature from Google GrandCentral. This feature has been mentioned in a post previously for the extra email address it affords you (if you are fortunate to have a GC number).
Feature: GrandCentral Notifications
"Notifications" is nothing unique by itself, but this feature would be missed if not included in the mix offered by Google GrandCentral. When you first set up your account, you will be asked how you would like to receive voicemail updates. Enable the notifications feature, then whenever you have a new voicemail, GC will automatically alert you via an email, SMS, or both. You also can listen to your GrandCentral voicemail notifications via a link from email.
Additionally, anyone that knows your GrandCentral number can send you an email as follows: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Match this up with other services offered like Jotts and you can customize your specific personal or business messaging needs.
You can use Google GrandCentral notifications to review voicemails from your email, know when messages are left on any of your telephone numbers, and be alerted of messages that have arrived even if your phone is turned off. Click the graphic above for a larger view.
